Robert A. “Bob” Idol
Bob Idol practices in the areas of estate planning, trusts and estates, estate administration, business organizations (corporations and limited liability companies) and tax-exempt
organizations. He was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1981, after receiving his undergraduate degree in business administration and his law degree from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, he received his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from Emory University in 1983. He is a co-author of Administration of the Estate in North
Carolina published by the National Business Institute, past president of the Durham/Orange Estate Planning Council, and past president of the Young Lawyers Division of the
Durham County Bar Association. He has lectured for the Duke Institute for Learning in Retirement, the Duke University Eye Center, Merrill Lynch Trust Company, Central
Carolina Bank & Trust Company (now SunTrust), Prudential Life Insurance Company, Southern National Bank Trust & Capital Management Group (now Branch Banking & Trust
Company) and Durham Regional Hospital, and he has served on the Triangle Hospice Planned Giving Advisory Group and the Greater Triangle Community Foundation Advisory
Board. Prior to joining Reinhardt, Milam & Fisher, PLLC, he was a shareholder with Bryant, Patterson, Covington, Idol & Lewis, P.A. for over 20 years.
